Women’s Track and Field Fares Well Through Two Days of Competition at New England Championships
Day Two Results
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's outdoor track and field team is currently in sitting in eight place through two of the three days of competition at the New England Championship held on the Southern Campus.
Samantha Spindel (Brewster, N.Y.) took fourth in the hammer throw with a heave of 53.02 meters along with All-New England honors.
In the long jump,
Courtni Walker (Uniondale, N.Y.) finished fourth with a distance of 5.59 meters, while taking home All-New England honors. She also has the second fastest qualifying time in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.16 and the fourth fastest qualifying time in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.28.
Brittany Brown (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) had the second fastest preliminary time in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.31.
Sarah Hill (Rockville, Conn.) ran a nice time in the 400 meter dash with a time of 56.69 to take fifth in the preliminaries.
Brittany Niemczyk (Vernon, Conn.) qualified for the finals of the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.27.
The Owls are back in action tomorrow at 10 a.m. for the final day of competition for the New England Championships.
