Titilayo Vanriel ranks 17th in the nation in the 800 meter run.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's outdoor track and field team has eight members ranked among the top athletes in the Division II. The Owls are coming off their third straight win of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships this past weekend.

Brittany Brown (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) is now ranked 15th in the 100 meter hurdles for a 14.13 performance at the Yale Springtime Invitational.

Titilayo Vanriel (Hartford, Conn.) holds the 17th fastest time in the nation with a time of 2:12.23 in the 800 meter run. She achieved this time at the UConn Alumni Invite on Apr. 7.

The 4x100 meter relay team broke the school record for the event and posted the 21th best time in all of Division II, with a time of 46.55, at the Rampao Roadrunner Express Meet held in Mahwah, N.J. The team consisted of Sahnique Castella (Hartford, Conn.), Sarah Hill (Rockville, Conn.), Courtni Walker (Uniondale, N.Y.), and Ashley Bell (Riverhead, N.Y.).

Kimberly Johnson (Lisbon, Conn.) holds the 19th best pole vault with a height cleared of 3.60 meters achieved at the UConn Alumni Invitational on Apr. 7.

With a hammer toss distance of 52.52 meters executed at the Sam Howell Invite on Apr. 2, Samantha Spindel (Brewster, N.Y.) is holds the 23nd best throw in the nation.

The Owls will be back in action on the Southern Campus for the New England Championship May 12-14.
