Several Owls Currently Among Best In Division II
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's outdoor track and field team has several members that rank among the best in the nation on the NCAA Division II national leader board.
Titilayo Vanriel (Hartford, Conn.) claims the 10th fastest time in the nation with a time of 2:12.23 in the 800 meter run. She achieved this time at the UConn Alumni Invite on Apr. 7.
The 4x100 meter relay team broke the school record for the event and posted the 14th best time in all of Division II, with a time of 46.55, at the Rampao Roadrunner Express Meet held in Mahwah, N.J. The team consisted of
Sahnique Castella (Hartford, Conn.),
Sarah Hill (Rockville, Conn.),
Courtni Walker (Uniondale, N.Y.), and
Ashley Bell (Riverhead, N.Y.).
Kimberly Johnson (Lisbon, Conn.) holds the 13th best pole vault with a height cleared of 3.60 meters achieved at the UConn Alumni Invitational on Apr. 7..
With a hammer toss distance of 52.52 meters executed at the Sam Howell Invite on Apr. 2,
Samantha Spindel (Brewster, N.Y.) is holds the 22nd best throw in the nation.
The Owls will be back in action May 1 for the Yale Spring Invitational.
