MAHWAH, N.J. - Enis Bukalo (Derby, Conn.)  of the Southern Connecticut State University men's outdoor track and field team took first in the discus throw with a launch of 45.43 meters, while Casey Canada (Royal, Ark.) claimed first in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 54.77 at the Rampao Roadrunner Express Meet on the Rampao College campus in Mahwah, N.J.  Canada also took second in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.37. Bukalo took third in the shot put with a toss of 15.06 meters. Some of the athletes also travelled to Princeton, N.J. for the Larry Ellis Invitational today.

At the Rampao Roadrunner Express Meet, Logan Sharpe (Esperance, N.Y.) finished just two-hundredths of a second behind first in second place with a time of 54.79.

Chris Babcock (New Windsor, N.Y.) took third in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:59.24, while teammates Brian Robbins (Bristol, Conn.) and Brian Nill (Ridge, N.Y.) went fourth and sixth with times of 1:59.57 and 2:00.79, respectively.

Shawneil Thompson (Mystic, Conn.) was fourth in the shot put with a heave of 14.41 meters. Thompson also claimed fourth in the discus throw with a throw of 43.25 meters, while Nicolas Fedor (Bethany, Conn.) took fifth with a distance of 40.31 meters.

A.J. Guerra claimed a second place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 54.60 meters, while Fedor took third with a distance of 52.35 meters.

Joseph Alves finished third in the javelin throw with a distance of 54.87 meters.

Selasi Lumax (Somerset, N.J.) was the top finishing Owl for the day in the 800 meter dash at the Larry Ellis Invite claiming 12th place with a time of 1:51.21, while Corey DeLaCruz (Alamogordo, N.M.) and Josh Perry (Nagatuck, Conn.) took 18th and 20th in the same event with times of 1:52.03 and 1:52.14, respectively. With these times, Lumax and Perry now hold the second and 10th fastest times in the nation.

The Owls will be back in action next Sunday at the Yale Springtime Invitational on May 1st.
