NEW HAVEN, Conn.– Samantha Spindel (Brewster, N.Y.) of the Southern Connecticut State University women's outdoor track and field named Field Athlete of the Week by the Northeast-10 Conference for her performance at the Metropolitan Championships in New Brunswick, N.J. this past Friday.

Spindel placed first in the hammer toss with a heave of 50.82 meters. She currently holds the 18^th best hammer toss throw in the nation with a distance of 52.52 meters achieved at the Sam Howell Invitational on April 2.

The Owls will be back in action this weekend as they travel to the Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday in Princeton, N.J on April 22.
