Patrick Waszczak was one of three Owls named to the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field All-Academic Team.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Three members of the Southern Connecticut State University men's indoor track and field team - senior Patrick Waszczak (Colchester, Conn.), junior Stenson Jean-Baptiste (Stratford, Conn.) and sophomore Logan Sharpe (Esperance, N.Y.) - have been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field All-Academic Team. The Owls' three selections were the most among any team in the conference. All three student-athletes also collected All-America honors at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships last month.

To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; achieved a 3.3 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution.

Jean-Baptiste was an All-American in the 4x400 relay and also collected All-Region and All-New England honors in that event. He was also an All-New England honoree in the 400 meters.

Sharpe also ran a leg of the All-American 4x400 relay squad and also captured All-Region and All-New England laurels in that event. He also was an All-Region and All-New England selection in the 400 meters.

Waszczak captured All-American, All-Region and All-New England honors in the pole vault during the winter campaign. He was also the Northeast-10 Conference champion in the pole vault.

Jean-Baptiste is a sociology major with a 3.37 grade point average. Sharpe is an exercise science major with a 3.45 grade point average. Waszczak is an exercise science major with a 3.33 grade point average.
