NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Freshman A.J. Guerra (Stafford Springs, Conn.) of the Southern Connecticut State University men's outdoor track and field team was selected as the Field Rookie of the Week by the Northeast-10 Conference. He placed fifth in the hammer throw to lead the Southern Connecticut State University men's outdoor track and field team at day two of the Raleigh Relays on Saturday. Guerra's heave of 55.32 meters placed him ahead of competitors from the likes of Duke, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Boston College, Virginia and Pittsburgh.

Guerra and company will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Princeton, N.J. to compete in the Sam Howell Invitational scheduled for April 2-3.
