Day Two Results

ALBURQUERQUE, New Mexico – Five members of the Southern Connecticut State University men's indoor track and field team collected All-America honors on the final day of action on Saturday at the NCAA Division II Championships. Logan Sharpe (Esperance, N.Y.), Stenson Jean-Baptiste (Stratford, Conn.), Nana Ocran (Manchester, Conn.) and Selasi Lumax (Somerset, N.J.) earned the honor in the 4x400 relay, while Patrick Waszczak (Colchester, Conn.) also did so in the pole vault. Lumax and Josh Perry (Naugatuck, Conn.) also captured All-America honors in the 800 meters.

Lumax finished sixth with a time of 1:53.29 and Perry finished eighth with a time of 1:53.99 in the 800 meter run finals. 

The 4x400 meter relay team consisting of Sharpe, Stenson Jean-Baptiste, Nana Ocran and Lumax took eighth with a time of 3:14.67.  

Waszczak took the sixth spot in the pole vault and tying his season-best with a height cleared of 16 feet, 2.75 inches.

Ryan Whitehead (Darien, Conn.) finished ninth in the heptathlon with a score of 4920 breaking his previous best of 4880 achieved at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships. On Saturday, he finished first in the pole vault to earn 880 points with a height cleared of 16 feet, 0.75 inches.  He also took 12th and 11th in the 60 meter hurdles and the 1000 meter run with times of 9:22 and 2:55.66, respectively. On Friday, Whitehead finished third in the shot put with a throw of 39 feet, 10 inches.  He placed fifth in the long jump with a distance of 21 feet, eight inches.  He also finished 11th in the high jump and 12th the 60 meter dash.
