Brittany Niemczyk will compete at the NCAA Championship next week in the 4x400 meter relay.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Nine members of the Southern Connecticut State University women's indoor track and field team have qualified for the 2011 NCAA Division II Championships, which will take place in Albuquerque, New Mexico on March 11-12.

Freshman Titilayo Vanriel (Hartford, Conn.) qualified as the No. 10 seed for the 800 meter run with a time of 2:13.67 achieved at the New England Championships.

The 4x400 meter relay team of Sarah Hill (Rockville, Conn.), Shaina Barr (Manchester, Conn.), Raysa Florentino (Groton, Conn.), Brittany Niemczyk (Vernon, Conn.) and alternate freshman Daira Veloz qualified as the No. 7 seed with a time of 3.48.66 ran at the New England Championships.

The distance medley relay team consisting of Jaclyn Sullivan (Lisbon, Conn.), Niemczyk, Vanriel, Alasia Griebel (Bristol, Conn.), and alternate Florentino qualified as the No. 8 seed with a time of 11:51.52 at the New England Championships.

Kimberly Johnson (Lisbon, Conn.) is the lone field athlete from the Owls attending the NCAA Championships in the pole vault as the No. 5 seed. Her height of 3.82 meters was achieved at the New England Championships.
