Selasi Lumax ranks sixth on the NCAA Division II national leader board for the 800m event.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Nine members of the Southern Connecticut State University men's indoor track and field team currently rank among the NCAA Division II leaders in their respective events.

The Owls have two new marks for this week's NCAA Division II Men's Indoor Track leaders. Ryan Whitehead (Darien, Conn.) in two categories, improving his previous height of 15 feet, 9 inches with a vault of 15 feet, 11 inches and adding his name to the national leaders in the heptathlon with a score of 4,880 at this past weekend's Metropolitan Indoor Championships. The second addition is the 4 x 400 meter relay team of Richard Jackson (New Rochelle, N.Y.), Nana Ocran (Manchester, Conn.), Logan Sharpe (Esperance, N.Y.) and Twayne Forth (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is seventh best in Division II thanks to a time of 3:17.39 at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships.

Junior Selasi Lumax (Somerset, N.J.) drops to sixth after posting a time of 1:53.54 at the Albany Great Dane Classic.

Senior Patrick Waszczak (Colchester, Conn.) dropped one spot to third in the pole vault in Division II. He ranked first in the nation two weeks ago following a leap of 16 feet, 2.75 inches at the Yale Track Classic. In all, the Owls have two of the top seven pole vaulting marks in Division II, as Whitehead is currently seventh with a leap of 15 feet, 11 inches at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships this past weekend. 

Jared Dixon (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is now 11th in the high jump after his leap of 6 feet, 9.75 inches at the SCSU Alumni Meet with New Haven.

All of the marks meet NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standards.

SCSU is back in action this weekend when it will send individuals to both the Giegengack Invitational at Yale and the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at 168th Street Armory.
