Shawneil Thompson and the Owls fared well on Saturday.
NEW HAVEN Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University men's indoor track and field team had another strong showing during day two of the Giegengack Invitational held on Saturday at Yale. The Owls placed numerous individuals within the top 10 of their respective events. Junior Jonathan Galli (Redding, Conn.) and freshman Nelson Laskoski (Pomfret Center, Conn.) shared fifth place honors in the pole vault with a height of 14 feet, nine inches, to lead the way for the Owls. 

In the shot put, freshman Enis Bukalo (Derby, Conn.) tossed a distance of 45 feet, 3.5 inches to claim a 10th place finish, while junior Shawneil Thompson (Mystic, Conn.) finished 18th with a throw of 41 feet, eight inches. 

The Owls will be back in action on Thursday at Manhattan/Fordham Tri-Meet in Manhattan, N.Y. scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
