NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Freshman Nelson Laskoski (Pomfret Center, Conn.) of the Southern Connecticut State University men's indoor track and field team has been named Freshman Field Athlete of the Week by the Northeast-10 Conference for his performance on Friday at the Giegengack Invitational. 

Laskoski was the top finishing NCAA Division II freshman (fifth overall) in the pole vault, with a height of 14 feet, 9 inches. 

The Owls will be back in action this Thursday at Manhattan for the Manhattan/Fordham Tri-Meet, scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
