Vaulters Pace Men’s Indoor Track and Field At Manhattan-Fordham Tri-Meet

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Southern Connecticut State University men's indoor track and field team took four of the top five spots in the pole vault at the Manhattan/Fordham Tri-Meet in Manhattan on Wednesday to lead the way for the Owls. Senior
Patrick Waszczak (Colchester, Conn.) finished first with a height of 15 feet, nine inches to pace the Owls in the event. Freshman
Nelson Laskoski (Pomfret Center, Conn.) finished second with a vault of 15 feet, three inches. Sophomore
Justin Escaravage (Brookfield, Conn) took fourth with 14 feet, nine inches. Rounding out the top five, junior
Jonathan Galli (Redding, Conn.) finished fifth with a vault of 14 feet, five inches.
Jumping onto the top-10 of the NCAA Division II leader board, junior
Russell Fallo (Redding, Conn.) placed second in the long jump with a distance of 23 feet, 4.5 inches, while
Akeem Elliot (Greater Portmore, Jamaica) took fifth with a leap of 21 feet, six inches.
Senior
Jared Dixon (Middle Village, N.Y.) took first, by four inches, with a distance of six feet, 8.25 inches, in the high jump.
The Owls are back in action this Saturday for the Valentine's Invitational in Boston, Mass. held at Boston University.
