Alasia Griebel is among the Owls who rank among the NCAA leaders.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's indoor track and field team continues to be well-represented among the NCAA Division II leaders through meets completed this past weekend.

The 4x400 meter relay team of Sarah Hill (Rockville, Conn.), Dairha Veloz, Raysa Florentino (Groton, Conn.), Brittany Niemczyk (Vernon, Conn.) posted a 14th best time at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships.

The distance medley relay team of Jaclyn Sullivan (Lisbon, Conn.), Sarah Hill (Rockville, Conn.), Titlayo Vanriel (Hartford, Conn.) and Alasia Griebel (Bristol, Conn.) is now fifth in their event thanks to a finish two weeks ago at the Albany Great Dane Classic.

Senior Courtni Walker (Uniondale, N.Y.), sophomore Kimberly Johnson (Lisbon, Conn.) and freshman Brittany Brown (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) also rank among the NCAA Division II leaders in their respective events. Johnson ranks seventh in the pole vault, Brown currently ranks seventh in the high jump and Walker is 11th in the 60 meter dash.

Johnson vaulted a height of 11 feet, 11.75 inches at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships.

Brown posted her mark of 5 feet, 6 inches at the SCSU Alumni Meet with New Haven.

Walker registered her time of 7.69 seconds at the Harvard Season Opener.

All marks meet NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standards.

SCSU is back in action this weekend when it will send individuals to both the Giegengack Invitational at Yale and the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at 168th Street Armory.
