Kimberly Johnson claims Northeast-10 Co-Athlete of the Week honors.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Kimberly Johnson (Lisbon, Conn.) and junior Alasia Griebel (Bristol, Conn.) of the Southern Connecticut State University women's indoor track and field team have both collected weekly honors from the Northeast-10 Conference for their efforts at this past weekend's Metropolitan Championships. Johnson was selected as the league's Co-Field Athlete of the Week, while Griebel was tabbed for the weekly honor roll.

Johnson had a stellar performance this past weekend, as she posted a first place finish in the pole vault at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships. She vaulted to a height of 11 feet, 11.75 inches to rank seventh on the NCAA Division II leader board with a NCAA provisional qualifying mark.

Griebel proved to be a multiple event threat, as she finished second in the mile with a time of 5:02.2, while helping the 4x800m relay team to a fifth place. Griebel's time in the mile was a NCAA provisional qualifying mark.

The Owls are back in action this weekend when they head to the Gigengack Invitational at Yale University.
