Manhattan/Fordham Tri-Meet Results

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's track and field team had multiple first-place results when the team traveled to Manhattan College for the Manhattan/Fordham Tri-Meet on Wednesday. Sophomore Brittany Brown (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) finished first in the high jump with a NCAA provisional mark of five feet, seven inches. Brown showed no signs of slowing down by securing a first-place finish in the 55 meter high hurdles with a time of 8.05.

Sophomore Kimberly Johnson (Lisbon, Conn.) finished first with a height of 11 feet, 11 inches in the pole vault, while senior Courtni Walker (Uniondale, N.Y.) leaped a distance of 18 feet, six inches to take third in the long jump. Both athletes reached the NCAA provisional mark in their respective events.

Sophomore Brittany Niemczyk (Vernon, Conn.) and senior Alicia Gray (Colchester, Conn.) reached a height of 10 feet, 10 inches to claim second and third honors, respectively, in the pole vault.

With a jump of 35 feet, 6.5 inches, senior Sasha Saylor (Hartford, Conn.) claimed first-place honors in the triple jump.

The Owls are back in action this Saturday for the Valentine's Invitational in Boston, Mass. held at Boston University.
