Sarah Hill is among the Owls ranked among the NCAA leaders.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's indoor track and field team continues to be well-represented among the NCAA Division II leaders through meets completed this past Wednesday.

The Owls improved in the high jump, while adding a newcomer to the leader board in the long jump at the Manhattan/Fordham Tri-Meet held yesterday. Sophomore Brittany Brown (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) ranks ninth in Division II, improving her previous best by one inch to five feet, seven inches. Senior Courtni Walker (Uniondale, N.Y.) now ranks among the top NCAA division II athletes in both the long jump and 60 meter dash. Her jump of 18 feet, six inches, achieved at the Manhattan/Fordham Tri-Meet, ranks Walker 14th in the Division II. With a time of 7.69, Walker is ranked 14th in the 60 meter dash with her performance at the Harvard Season Opener.

The 4x400 meter relay team of Sarah Hill (Rockville, Conn.), Dairha Veloz, Raysa Florentino (Groton, Conn.), Brittany Niemczyk (Vernon, Conn.) posted a 19th best time at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships.

The distance medley relay team of Jaclyn Sullivan (Lisbon, Conn.), Sarah Hill (Rockville, Conn.), Titlayo Vanriel (Hartford, Conn.) and Alasia Griebel (Bristol, Conn.) is now ninth in their event thanks to a time of 12:14.09 at the Albany Great Dane Classic.

Sophomore Kimberly Johnson (Lisbon, Conn.) ranks 10th among the NCAA Division II leaders in the pole vault with a height of 11 feet, 11.75 inches performed at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships.

All marks meet NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standards.

SCSU is back in action this weekend when it travels to Boston, Mass. for the Valetine's Invitational at Boston University.
