Class M's Top Teams
Class M definitely punches weigh above its weight. Tolland won the M championship in 2019, and its top four that year were sophomores. Last year the Eagles were 4th among the bigger teams in the CCC Division C championship led by Peyton Bornstein's 1st place. Three members of the squad were seniors, but Tolland should be able to fill those slots and will likely be a decided favorite to repeat its 2019 class championship.
Another team that should do quite well in Class M this year is a Sacred Heart squad that has everybody back from a nice 3rd place finish among the bigger top teams in last year's SCC merge after winning the C race led by rising junior Julia Cannon with a 4th place overall in the SCC. New Fairfield could also be a contender after a 2nd place finish in the SWC, though top runner Samantha Ruggiero graduated and some rebuilding work will be needed.
A number of teams from Class M just did not amass enough results to be included here. We will see how things shake out in September.
