Friday Wrap Up


On Friday, Hall's Trey Cormier took 8th in the 5000m in 15:01.07 and now owns Hall's school records in the 1600m, 3200m and 5000m runs. The junior's time is the 25th best time in the US this season.  

Hillhouse swept the 800m and 1600m emerging elites sprint medley relays.  The team of Manasseh Bekele, Deshaune Poole, Neal Eley  and Talib McBride took gold in the 1600m race with a time of 3:29.12, which is currently 6th best in the country and unofficially the 4th best time in state history.  

Bekele, Poole and Eley combined with Naszier Torrence-Robinson about two hours later to take the 800m medley running 1:33.32.

Stonington finished off their outstanding season setting their 1600m SMR school record. Senior Cameron Whalen led sophomores Chase Flynn, Joey Hinckley and Rhys Hammond to a time of 3:33.80.  

Hartford Public boys of Malcolm Grate, Leon Campbell, Andre Valentine, and Zinodene Stewart took over the state lead in the 4 x 200m taking 6th in the Emerging Elite section with a time of 1:29.36.     

Kylie Raymond of Somers took nearly 30 seconds off her time from her winning time at the Amity Midnight Invitation on May 4th.  Her time of 17:29.22 finished 13th in the championship 5000m.  The sophomore now has the 19th best time in the country.  

Windsor High School girls took over the state lead in the Sweedish SMR with a team of Cori Richardson, Camille McHenry, TiaMarie Brown and Jalah Cooper 20  by running 2:19.13  in the championship sections of 1000m event.
