On Friday and Saturday, Danbury High School will host the the
38th annual Dan O'Grady Relays. What 
started out as a one- year event honoring
legendary Danbury coach, Dan O'Grady, has blossomed into an annual spring time
tradition that attracts about 60 teams from all over Connecticut and even
several local middle school teams.
The O'Gradys are a meet that shows off a team's depth because everything is a relay, including the field events. There is an overall winner as well as divisional winners based on school size.
Bloomfield girls and Danbury boys will return to defend their titles. On the girl's side, Greenwich, who won the State Open this winter will content for the title along with the lady Hatters who were runners up to the Cardinals in indoor track and State Open runners up in cross country.
Danbury boys will be challenged by Staples who took 2nd this fall in cross country and third behind Derby who will also be in the mix for the overall team title.
The meet begins on Friday at 5pm with non- scoring events. Click here for Friday's performance list. The meet will continue with the field events starting at 9 am and the track events at 10 am the next day. Saturday's performance list can be found here.
