It didn't take long for Connecticut to generate a little excitement at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials, held at historic Hayward Field in Oregon.
In the first running event of the Trials on Friday, former Wilbur Cross and Penn State standout Casimir Loxson advanced to the finals of the 800-meter run. Loxson, a multiple all-stater and New England 600m record-holder, finished second in his heat and ninth overall with a time of 1:47.76.
The finals for the men's 800m will be held on Monday at 5:51 p.m.
