About Me
I ran Cross Country and track at Hartford Public High School under legendary high school coach Lindy Remigino and later at Div. III Trinity College in Hartford. I even got to anchor our mile relay team during my senior year of college which was a blast. I was lucky to have two terrific coaches during those years who took an interest in me. Consequently I learned some pretty compelling life lessons about hard work, goal setting, focus and attitude, which have served me well over the years. Now I'm a parent of two young adults, (UF '08 and PBA '09) and a fan of the sport.
We lived in Lutz (NW Hillsborough County) for many years. One of my daughters ran for Sickles High School in Tampa, so I got to know Coach Rit, Coach Heid and Jim Zander pretty well. That's how I got reconnected with the sport. My other daughter attended the IB Program at Hillsborough High where she played on the Girls Soccer Team during the Cinderella Season of 2003-2004 [19-1-0 (proud father)] so I like to follow soccer too.
A job change has relocated us to Volusia County. I try to keep up with some of the Hillsborough and Pasco County teams if I can make it over to the west coast from time to time, and I try to show up and support the local squads when I can as well. I don't care who is running, I just show up to encourage the kids and in the process I have met gajillions of interesting people: parents, coaches and some of the neatest kids imaginable.
I enjoy reading the posts on FLRunners site, following the seasons and trying to be supportive and encouraging to the FLRunners community in as many creative ways as I can think of.
