Duke bound Juliet Bottorff, of Tatnall, DE, who clocked 4:59.60 to win the mile at the Yale Track Classic over the weekend, is one of nine girls named to the prestigious high school mile field for the upcoming Millrose Games. Jillian Smith (NJ) returns to defend her crown.

Sam Roecker of Burnt Hills-Balston Lake took charge from the gun in the girls 3000m, and while her teammate Molly Pezullo hung on her shoulder, Roecker just continued to run out front. Roecker is just tough - it's as simple as that. Anyone who has ever seen her race would agree. She may look dead at the mile mark but she'll always find a way to be in the race all the way to the end.
