MHS' Redman 'High School Coach of the Year'
Manchester High School's boys track and field Coach Thayer Redman has been named the male Doc McInerney High School Coach of the Year by the Connecticut Sports Writers’ Alliance.
Redman has been involved with the Manchester High School boys track and field program for nearly two decades, including as head coach since 2000.
But in a career filled with memorable moments, the highlight for Redman came last June when he led the Indians to their first state championship since 1944. And they did it in dramatic fashion, edging perennial powerhouse Danbury 75-74.
