Women’s Cross Country Claims Ninth Place Honors at Connecticut College Inivtational

WATERFORD, Conn. –
Titilayo Vanriel (Hartford, Conn.) of the Southern Connecticut State University women's cross country tema helped set the pace for the Owls and work towards a ninth place overall finish at the Connecticut College Invitational held in Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Conn. Vanriel was 31st with a time of 23:29.
With a time of 23:58,
Chloe Ashcroft (Shelton, Conn.) was second on the team in 47th place, while
Nicole Strauss (Shelton, Conn.) took 73rd place with a time of 24:42.
Other student athletes in the competition were
Kiara Bonilla (Bristol, Conn.) in 79th,
Jaclyn Sullivan (Lisbon, Conn.) in 92nd,
Stephanie Sulkowski (Guilford, Conn.), and
Megan Carroll (Shelton, Conn.).
The Owls finished ahead of such notable schools as UMass, Trinity College and Salve Regina.
The Owls will be back in action next weekend for the Northeast-10 Conference Championships held in North Hampton, Mass.
