Nicholas Fedor finished first in the discus throw at day one of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.
LOWELL, Mass. – The Southern Connecticut State University men's outdoor track team had a stellar day one at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship claiming top honors in three of the eight events held today on the UMass-Lowell Campus. Akeem Elliott (Greater Portmore, Jamaica) claimed the top spot in the long jump with a leap of 7.30 meters beating his season best of 7.15 meters at the Yale Springtime Invite just a few days prior. Nicholas Fedor (Bethany, Conn.) ranked first and touched orbit in the discus throw with a distance of 43.28 meters.

Nana Ocran (Manchester, Conn.) took first in the 100 meter dash prelims with a time of 10.93 but finished fourth in the finals.

Other top finishers include freshman Joseph Ales (Trumbull, Conn.) with a third place finish in the javelin throw with a distance of 52.03 meters.

Diwani Augustine (East Hartford, Conn.) and Russell Fallo (Redding, Conn.) finished third and fourth in the long jump with a distance of 7.24 and 7.03 meters, respectively.

Enis Bukalo (Deryb, Conn.) took third in the discus throw with a range of 41.61 meters, while Shawneil Thompson (Mystic, Conn.) claimed fourth with a toss of 41.04 meters.

The Owls will be back in action tomorrow for day two of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.
