Girls Team Overview
Overview
William Hall finished 10th last year and was led by Jenna Zydanowicz in 5th place. This year Hall soared ahead of the rest of the teams in the LL Division race, and season-long leader Zydanowicz was the 6th runner in for the Warriors in 26th place. If she is on form for the Open, Hall will be even a bigger favorite based on its nice speed rating and low compression number. Last year Danbury won the LL Division race and then went on to edge Immaculate by a point for the open title.
Four teams from the LL race that pose a threat to Hall include Trumbull, Ridgefield, Glastonbury, and reigning champ Danbury. Trumbull had numbers that were within striking distance of Hall while taking 2nd at Divisionals.
The other two teams whose Division results indicate that they will be up near the top in the Open are New Canaan and Simsbury who finished 1st and 2nd in the Division L race. New Canaan's tighter pack got the better of Simsbury in the Division race, but the situation may change when the two teams join in with eight LL teams among the 21 at the Open.
