Nicolai Breaks Hammer Throw State Record
Recent Portland High School graduate Keller Nicolai broke the Maine high school state record in the hammer throw at the Hammerrama in Wakefield, Rhode Island on Sunday.
Nicolai finished second in the event with his record breaking throw of 59.53m (195' 3"). The mark broke the 191'8 record set back in 1929 by Larry Johnson.
Nicolai will continue to throw for the University of Rhode Island next year.
