Countdown: No. 1, Mah Is Mah-Velous AT NBN!

As expected, this was an extremely difficult task. With so many to chose from, we have come up with a list of what we consider the top 20 performances of the outdoor track & field season. We rank them in order, beginning with No. 20 and finishing with No. 1.

Countdown: Mah Is Mah-Velous At NBN

There were a few people that were worthy of this No. 1 status. But in our minds, there was no one more deserving than Andrew Mah. The Newton North senior has been one of our most talented distance runners the past few years. His workhorse efforts on the trails and track oval made every race honest. If Mah was on the starting line,  you knew the odds of a tactical, slower race were thrown out the window. But while he has won a pair of New England crowns for 3,200 meters, when it came to his top MA rivals he was a perennial runner-up finisher to the likes of Tristan Shelgren and Ryan Oosting. That all changed on a hot Friday night last month at the New Balance Nationals. Mah was not only able to finally finish ahead of Oosting in a high-level race, but also take home a national title. No doubt, our top performance this season was Mah's impressive victory in the 5K where he broke the tape in North Carolina with an all-time best of 14:32.96. The Tiger standout blistered his final 400m in 63 seconds!
