Countdown: No. 3, PR For Oosting At Brooks PR

As expected, this was an extremely difficult task. With so many to chose from, we have come up with a list of what we consider the top 20 performances of the outdoor track & field season. We rank them in order, beginning with No. 20 and finishing with No. 1.

Countdown: No. 3, PR For Oosting At Brooks PR

Arlington junior Ryan Oosting had many performances to choose from for this spot on our list. Oosting won back-to-back mile and two mile titles at the All State Meet. He contested with some of the best in the country at the Arcadia Invitational in California where he clocked 8:53.42 for 3,200 meters. He also came just short of his second straight 5K title at the New Balance Nationals where he placed second to MA rival Andrew Mah with a time of 14:37.74. But the performance we feel is slightly better than the rest occurred a week before nationals at the Brooks PR Invitational in Washington. Oosting proved that a sub 8:50 two mile is well within his reach next year when he was fifth in a very competitive 2M race. The Arlington standout clocked a PR of 8:53.46. A total of eight in the field broke nine minutes, including individual winner, James Mwaura of Lincoln Senior High in Washington, who crossed the line in 8:48.76.
