Countdown: No. 8, Sub-55 For Comella At States

As expected, this was an extremely difficult task. With so many to chose from, we have come up with a list of what we consider the top 20 performances of the outdoor track & field season. We rank them in order, beginning with No. 20 and finishing with No. 1.

Countdown: No. 8, Sub-55 For Comella At States

In two short years, Wellesley sophomore Abby Comella has shown great potential on the track oval.  During the winter months, the talented underclassman captured her first individual state crown in the 600-meter run.  Comella brought that success to the outdoor surface where she excelled in the 200m and 400m dashes. She cracked 25 seconds for the half-lapper and proved unbeatable for 400m.  Comella had several highlights this spring, including a victory in her specialty at the prestigious Glenn B. Loucks Games in New York this past May. Comella finished off her season at the All State Meet in the most appropriate way. She not only won the 400m, but dipped under 55 seconds for the first time with a personal best of 54.96. That effort tied her for No. 13 among all tenth-graders in the nation.
