Countdown: No. 16, Felty Tosses First 60-Footer

As expected, this was an extremely difficult task. With so many to chose from, we have come up with a list of what we consider the top 20 performances of the outdoor track & field season. We rank them in order, beginning with No. 20 and finishing with No. 1.

Countdown: Felty tosses first 60-footer

Innovation Academy junior Aiden Felty has been chasing the 60-foot mark in the shot put ever since his breakthrough performance at the MSTCA Winter Festival in mid December where he had a more than four-foot PR of 55-5. With nearly a dozen efforts in the 57- to 58-foot range during the outdoor season, Felty seemed destined for the milestone during the spring campaign. On June 2, it finally happened, and it couldn't have been at a more opportune time. The Innovation standout earned his first individual all-state title by unleashing the metal ball a winning distance of 61-7. He would finish off his season with another 60-footer, placing ninth at the New Balance Nationals with a toss of 61-1.25.
