NCAA XC Championships: Bowman Leads The Way With All-American Effort

   Tufts senior Brittany Bowman finished 11th in the D3 XC National Championship to earn All-American    honors. She covered the 6k course in 21:04.50. Bowman who competed at Camden Hills lead the Jumbos to a 7th place team finish. This was the second XC All-American honors for Bowman who placed 18th a year ago.

Also competing on the girls' side were a pair of teammates from Dickinson College, Tessa Cassidy formerly of Brunswick placed 73rd to lead her team to a 28th place finish, while Sophia Canning former Waynflete standout was 117th.


Caroline Driscoll (St Lawrence) former MDI Trojan was the next Maine native in 135th while Yarmouth Alum Georgia Giese (St Lawrence) 269th, as a team they were 32nd.

Former Yarmouth Clipper Ben Decker (Williams College) placed 67th with teammate Liam Simpson former Cape Elizabeth standout one spot later in 68th, Also running for the Ephs was another Cape Elizabeth alum Mitchell Morris placing 199th. As a team Williams finished 13th.

Former Leavitt Hornet Harrison Knowlton now running for Middlebury College finished in 156th, the Panthers as a team placed 15th.

Former Fryeburg Academy ace Anna Lastra was the top Maine native at the D2 XC Championships. Lastra a sophomore running for Stonehill College finished 199th. Her teammate Abby Hersom formerly of Oceanside ran to a 211th place effort. Stonehill placed 24th a team.

Kialeigh Marston (Assumption) a former standout from Bonny Eagle finished 214th.
