DJ Principe

Mile, Prefontaine Classic - May 27

The La Salle Academy senior had several shining moments in the final season of his outstanding high school career. He captured three events (3,000m, 1,500m, 800m) at the State Meet  on June 3, including an all-time best of 1:53.75 for the two-lapper.  He dominated the 3K at the Rick Schomp Invitational where he clocked a nation No. 1 and state record of 8:16.60.

But the one meet, the one race, we feel sticks out from the rest for Principe was his performance at the Prefontaine Classic on May 27. Competing in the International Mile, an event that featured some top collegiate and open runners, the Stanford commit nearly broke four minutes for the second time this year with an all-time best and state record of 4:00.73.
