Jumps Review: Listing The Nation's Leaders

As we hit a little past the midway point of April, we hit the halftime point for many track and field programs across the country.

Let's take a look at what the nation has accomplished over that time in the jumping events. Current leaders in each event include:

Can Tara Davis make it a double this year? A year ago, the Agoura (Ca.) High starlet and Georgia signee led the nation in the triple jump and was tied for fourth in the long jump. It seems as though Davis could be headed for an even better season, though she may need one more big jump to make that happen. The leading figure in the long jump a season ago was Cypress Springs (Tx.) High's Samiyah Samuels, who went 21-1.5.

Meanwhile, on the boys side we've already seen history take place in the pole vault. Armand Duplantis racked up a world junior record in the pole vault after his performance at the Texas Relays. And in the high jump, Vernon Turner has rung up the second best performance all-time in high school and needs just one more inch to tie the all-time mark.

What will the two months bring us?
