Wickham Park will be hopping on Saturday with 12 class meets taking place at the scenic venue. The action begins at 9:15 a.m., with returning class and state champion Tolland High ready to defend its girls' title in the Class M meet. Nationally-ranked Alex Ostberg and his Darien teammates will try and win back-to-back crowns in the Class L meet at 12 noon. An hour later, Staples junior Hannah DeBalsi, another of the country's best, will be running her first 5K race of the season in the Class LL meet at 1 p.m. Last week she copped the FCIAC crown with a fast time of 13:37 for four kilometers. Glastonbury is the defending champion in the event. That race will be followed by the boys' Class LL meet, which last year was captured by eventual state champion Ridgefield.
This is just a brief scenario of more than seven-hours of competition at Wickham Park. MileSplit CT will be on site, covering all the action.
