Wickham Park course-record holder Hannah DeBalsi of Staples High
Over the year, Wickham Park has been the site of some fast times. In last year''s Invitational meet, the top five times since the new course was implemented in 2008 were recorded with recent Fairfield Prep graduate Christian Alvarado outleading Ridgefield grad Trevor Hopper at the finish to set the current course record of 15:31. Hopper also ran 15:31. Conad's Ahmed Haji has the CR for the old course with a 15:20 effort in 2003. On the girls' side, Staples' junior Hannah DeBalsi has the three fastest times at the scenic park, including her CR of 17:41 at last year's Class LL Championship. Between 1991-2007, the great Liz Mueller of Waterford has the four quickest times on the original four-kilometer course. She had her best of 14:02 in 1992 at the Class M Championship.
